Ho’omana’o Mau – Lasting Remembrance

Her Majesty the Queen Lili’uokalani reigned as the first Queen and last Monarch of Hawai’i until she was forced to abdicate her throne in 1893.  Trusting in Divine Creator (Akua) and the Highest Light of Akua, she continued in historic movements and efforts for her Kingdom and her people that were truthful, inspirational and beautiful.  They include the creation of traditions and compositions of mele (songs) that are forever meaningful. Queen Lili’uokalani’s personal bracelet collection that included her creation with its message Ho’omana’o mau or “Lasting Remembrance,” was the inspiration for what has become a tradition of Hawaii.  Other famed inscribed messages in the golden adornments of the Queen include Mai poina ‘Oe Ia’u and Aloha ‘Oe.  Mele were composed with each bracelet’s message. The tradition is appreciated today as Hawaiian Heirloom Jewelry known the world over. Inoa o Hawai’i, Names among ‘Ōiwi, have always been cherished not only for their spiritual importance but for their importance in oral history. In the modern era, a woman’s receiving of the gift of a gold bracelet inscribed with her Inoa ‘Ōiwi (Hawaiian name from her lineage of birth) was the tradition in beauty.  In the modern era, an ‘Ōiwi woman, as she graduated from high school or at some such momentous time in her life, was gifted the golden bracelet worn by her Kupuna Elder of the same name.  Here was the tradition in beauty where the love of the cherished Elder was honored as she honored ke kamalani (the child from Heaven), her Namesake.

Ho’opili Mau – Together Always

In 2018, a new jewelry bracelet design delivers a message from Queen Lili’uokalani.  The inspiration for this jewelry is a Spiritual Conveyance from the Queen that carries a message of comfort to her Hawaiian people. People of the world are now experiencing powerful changes taking place on the Earth.  We are all moving toward a higher spirituality with the Earth. In Hawai’i, the discussion of Spirit is alive and ongoing.  Foretelling events to come, in 2008, two children were born in Hawai’i.  Their names are names that Mary Kawena Puku’i calls Inoa ‘Ala.  These are known as esteemed names that serve the child and family but that also serve the society by their contribution to history. The first, a boy, was named Ka’ahakūlani, meaning “The One who Sets the Foundation for Heaven on Earth.”  Two months later, his cousin, a girl, was born and was named Kealana’alaneokāpa’amaulikapalili meaning “The Serene Peace that Holds the Trembling Hearts”.  When Heaven and Earth move, the hearts of people can become afraid. In 2012, male twins were born and are bearers of Inoa ‘Ala for the people.  Born are Ka-ui-i-nā-lani, meaning “The Great Appeal to Heaven” and his brother Ka-pane-loa-nā-lani, meaning “The Answer from the Distant Heavens” memorializing Kanaka Maoli’s prayers for Hawai’i since 1893 and the coming of the answers from Akua in these days. In Pacific Traditions, as the realms of Heaven & Earth are joined in these times, a Song accompanies this bracelet to honor Kanaloa and Hina who serve Divinity and Mankind at the time of a new beginning for the planet in Ke-au-lama, The Age of Light.  The song is entitled Ho’opili Mau ~ Together Always.
